Asian Civilization Museum

Asian Civilization Museum was constructed in 1997 to generate awareness about Singapore’s legacy by exhibiting all the information of historians who had visited Singapore in the previous centuries. The museum features superb displays mostly concentrated on Chinese civilisation. The collection comprises old images, historical papers, charts, maps and a range of Asian treasures and leftovers.

The museum contains two wings, which showcase Chinese culture and Asian culture, expressing their beliefs, representation and tradition. The museum shows exhibitions of both the civilizations on rotation basis. The main component of the museum is situated in the National Monument, which is roughly 120 years old. This division offers conventional and multimedia exhibits on the history of Singapore and other Asian civilizations including Southeast Asia, South Asia and West Asia. The Southeast Asia exhibit contains great presentations on the overlapping impacts of Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam on many nations in the area. The Armenian St branch is primarily focused on Chinese history with a wonderful display of Peranakan (Baba Nyonya) heritage.
