Botanic Gardens, Singapore
The Botanic Gardens may be found in the area that is bordered by Cluny Road and Holland Road. These gardens have a total area of 127 hectares. Sir Stamford Raffles established the Botanic Gardens in 1822 in their current location at the foot of Government Hill. In these gardens, Sir Raffles cultivated a wide variety of plant life, including fruits, vegetables, and spices. The gardens were subsequently shut down once Sir Raffles passed away. In the latter part of the year 1859, the location of the gardens was relocated to its present place. Gardens have grown and expanded during the course of their existence.
There are around 3,000 plant species represented in a botanic garden. In addition to that, this location is home to a herbarium that has more than 500,000 preserved specimens. The Ginger Garden, the National Orchid Garden, and the Evolution Garden are just a few of the public gardens. The richness of these gardens is highlighted by the presence of a diverse collection of orchids as well as some endangered species of other plant life. There are a significant number of palm trees, including the coconut and the lontar, both of which are examples. Joggers and others who like picnics will find the gardens to be an enjoyable place to spend time. On the weekends, you may also choose to listen to jazz, classical music, or easy listening music.
