Shrine of Hazrat Ali
Every year, thousands of people visit the Hazrat Ali Shrine, also known as Roza Mubarik, which is a major religious landmark in Mazar-i-Sharif and in Afghanistan. The locals believe that Hazrat Ali, the fourth Caliph of Islam, was buried here. The mosque is in the city centre and boasts lovely domes with blue mosaic tiles. The first construction on this location is said to have been built in the 12th century. The mosque has been meticulously maintained and is in good shape over the years.
