Canal City
A few hundred metres to the southeast of the Nakasu-Kawabata metro station is where you’ll find the Canal City. This region is home to a lot of entertainment and retail facilities, including a good number of malls. Other amenities include movie multiplexes, restaurants, pubs, playhouses, bistros, etc. Additionally, this location is well-known among travellers for its photographic opportunities.
Fukuoka Asian Art Museum
The Fukuoka Asian Art Museum is a museum that was established not too long ago and is located in a contemporary structure. Here you may see current works of art from Asia shown via a variety of different objects. The seventh story of the building is where the majority of the artwork is now on exhibit. The eighth level is home to a variety of performances. You are able to purchase various works of art from the gift store located inside the museum.
Hakata Machiya Furusato-Kan
The Hakata Machiya Furusato-Kan, also known as the Folk Museum, can be found in close proximity to the Kushida Shrine. This little museum does an excellent job of showcasing the traditional arts of ancient Japan. The collection is comprised of pictures, architectural recreations, and other artefacts associated with the Hakata culture. Visitors to this museum are able to hear Hakata-ben dialects because to the inclusion of very old-fashioned telephones.
Fukuoka City Museum
The Momochi neighbourhood is home to the Fukuoka City Museum, which does an excellent job of showcasing the region’s rich history and cultural traditions. The well-known and priceless antique golden snake seal is one of the many artefacts that are now on show at the museum. The writing on the seal provides information on the early diplomatic ties that existed between Japan and China.
Fukuoka Art Museum
The Fukuoka Art Museum may be found in the neighbourhood of Ohori-koen. Works by a variety of artists, such as those by Andy Warhol and Salvador, may be found at this location. Pottery works and sculptures depicting Buddhist guardians may be seen in one of the galleries of the museum.
Shikanoshiama Island
The island of Shikanoshiama, which can be found off the coast of Fukuoka, is well known among visitors for its traditional way of life.
