Inle Lake, Myanmar

Inle Lake, Myanmar

This picture-perfect lake can be found in the Shan State and is bordered on all sides by stunning natural scenery. The lake stretches for about 22 kilometres in length and is famous for its many floating islands. These islands were formerly made up of floating water hyacinth and weeds, but with time, they were compacted into miniature islands due to the fact that they were gathered in one location. The original people who lived in the area built their homes on these islands, and there is currently a sizable population that lives on these islands. There are around 17 communities on these islands, some of which include Ywama and Phaung Daw U Kyaung. The month of October, during which a religious festival is celebrated in this area, is the ideal time to pay this location a visit.
