Kobe City Museum
The collection of paintings in the Kobe City Museum that are based on Namban art is very well known. It is thought that early Jesuit missionaries in Japan taught local pupils western painting methods, which eventually led to the development of Namban art. The museum hosts a variety of unique exhibits on a regular basis, each of which draws significant visitor numbers.
Kobe Harbor Land and Meriken Park
The area known as Kobe Harbor Land is located very near to Kobe Station. A great variety of retail centres and eating establishments can be found in this area. Evening hours are a popular time for people to come and walk about here. Meriken Park is well-known for the Kobe Maritime Museum, which has an impressive collection of ship models and is located in close proximity to Harbor Land. The museum is open from 10 am to 5 pm every day of the week with the exception of Monday.
Kobe Fashion Museum
Rokko Island is an artificially created island, and the Kobe Fashion Museum may be found there. Some of the most well-known fashion labels from other countries are represented here. The structure that houses the museum is also an interesting destination in its own right.
Tezuka Osamu Memorial Museum
This wonderful museum can be found in the Takarazuka district of Kobe, and it provides an introduction to Tezuku Osamu’s life as well as his works. It is generally agreed that Tezuku was the first person to create manga and animation in Japan. This museum is a popular destination for fans of manga art from Japan, who come to see its fascinating collection. The Tetsuwan Atomu (Astro Boy) and the Rion Kotei, in addition to a large number of sketches and schematics, are the primary pieces of Tezuka’s work that are on exhibit here. In the theatre of the museum, you may also see a cartoon on one of the screens.
Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum
In the Nadu-ku neighbourhood of Kobe is where you can find the Hakusuru Sake Brewery Museum. This region is well-known for the several stake-brewing enterprises that can be found here, one of which is called the Hakutsuru Company. In this museum, guests may get a lot of knowledge about the traditional methods that were used to make sake. If they are curious about sake, they may even have a free sample of it by asking the cashier at the desk.
Kitano
Kitano Kitano is a lovely hill location near Sannomiya. This region exudes an air of otherness, which appeals to a significant percentage of the local population. The meandering lanes and Ijinkan homes are the most notable characteristics of this location. These Ijinkan houses were home to Kobe’s first Western inhabitants, who made their home there for many years. You won’t have to pay admission to see some of these beautiful homes. In this neighbourhood, there is a great variety of restaurants and coffee shops where you may stop for a delectable meal or a refreshing beverage. Another enjoyable activity is going for a walk around the neighbourhood.
