Tourist Attractions in Pathein Myanmar

Shwemokhtaw Paya

This location may be found right in the middle of Pathein town. This enormous golden stupa has the appearance of a bell and is situated in a location not far from the riverbank. The highest layer of the adorned top of the stupa, which is composed of three levels, is made up of 6.5 kg of real gold. Silver composes the second layer, while bronze makes up the last layer of the structure. In each of the three layers of gilding that make up the decorative top, hundreds of individual diamonds, rubies, and other precious and semiprecious stones have been included.

Settayaw Paya

This is another another beautiful paya that can be seen in Pathein; however, it is not as well-known as some of the other monuments in the city. There are footsteps of an imaginary Buddha to be found in this area. The many structures that make up the shrine that are part of the complex are dispersed over the landscape’s various verdant mounds.

Chaungtha Beach

This beautiful and expansive beach may be found around 40 kilometres west of Pathein along the coast of the Bay of Bengal. It is situated in the Ayeyarwaddy Division and can be reached from Yangon by car in around four to five hours. In the area around this muddy delta beach, there are a good number of coconut and casuarina trees. Pho Kalar, Kyaut Nhama, and Phyu are just a few of the larger and smaller islands that may be found in the area immediately next to the shore. Visitors may also indulge in some delectable seafood, such as crab delicacies, at one of the many restaurants that line the area surrounding this beach.

Ngwe Saung Beach Resort

On the western coast of the nation is where you’ll find this beach resort. This stretch of pristine beach stretches for around 22 kilometres and has aquamarine ocean and white sand. Because there aren’t that many people who know about this remote location, it’s the ideal spot to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In close proximity to the beach are a number of quaint villages that may be explored in order to have a better understanding of the people who live there and the traditional ways in which they live their lives.

Lovers Island (Chit Thu Myar Kyun)

Because this area of land is only an island for half the day due to the movement of the tide, it makes for an intriguing destination to investigate. It becomes a part of the coast once again during the remaining half of the day when the tide is low. During the late mornings and early afternoons, you may even make the journey to the island on foot.
