Rudaki History and Local Lore Museum

Rudaki History and Local Lore Museum has an impressive collection of antiquities, souvenirs, and other fascinating stuff. In the vicinity of New City, the museum may be found around one mile to the west of the bazaar. The well-known poet Abu Abdullah Rudaki, who is said to have been born in the city of Penjikent, is honoured with the name of this place. The museum is home to some magnificent reproductions of frescos, as well as copies of records discovered on Mount Mug and artefacts from the adjacent Neolithic ruins of Sarazm. These artefacts provide a glimpse into the diverse cultural history that may be found in the Penjikent area.

Sarazm Settlement

The region known as the Sarazm Settlement may be found to the west of Penjikent. It is believed that this region is one of the oldest settlements in Central Asia, which gives it a great deal of significance from an archaeological point of view. After archaeological work began in this area and uncovered a multitude of artefacts and tombs, the location gained widespread notoriety. The burial site of a rich lady who lived in the 4th century and is believed to have been the Queen of Sarazm was discovered in this location.
