Kaptai Lake

Kaptai Lake is the country’s largest manmade lake, and it’s a great area to go boating and sailing. Around the lake, there are a lot of banana and tropical plants. The region’s tribal settlements with bamboo huts are the major attractions for visitors to Kaptai. Jawnasouk Mountain Vihara Buddhist monastery, near Rangmati, is an excellent site to visit. Shuvalong, Barkal, Longadu, and Mainimukh all have picturesque places. You may stop at all of these locations and explore them in depth while on a boat tour.

Tribal Culture Institute

This modest museum, located in Rangamati town, features exhibits on Hill Tracts indigenous culture. Tribal clothing, flutes, coins, jewellery, statues, handicraft items, and paintings are among the pieces in the collection, which depict diverse tribes’ cultural heritage. You may also view a map of the region that depicts the key tribal settlements.

Bana Vihara and Raja Vihara

The Buddhist monastery Bana Vihara is the largest in the Rangamati region. It is located near the town’s northern boundary. Complexly built thrones for the chief abbot may be found here. Another monastery, the Raja Vihara, is known for a massive bronze statue of Historical Buddha. The monastery is located on a small island near Rangamati.
