Zorat Kares
Zorat Kares is a place where graves dating back over 5000 years may be found. The location is roughly 2.1 miles (3.5 km) north of Sisian, and it is surrounded by mountains on all sides. Hundreds of upright basalt stones are arranged in an egg-shaped pattern. A burial tumulus may be seen at the area’s centre. A little hole may be found in several of the stones. It is thought that the individuals who built these tombs were well-versed in astronomy.
