Wat Luang

Wat Luang is one among Pakse’s larger wats, which number around 20. The temple, which was built in 1935, has artistically constructed concrete pillars. The carved doors and lovely paintings are other noteworthy features. Visitors are impressed by the wat’s white and golden stupa. A wooden monastic school is also included within the temple compound.

Champasak Historical Heritage Museum

Near the Champasak Provincial Library is the Champasak Historical Heritage Museum. The museum, which is situated in a two-story structure, was founded in 1995. The museum provides a good overview of the region’s history. A collection of archaeological, historical, and ethnological items may be found here. Costumes, musical instruments, jewellery, ceramics, gongs, and statues may be found on the main floor. Sandstone lintels from the 7th century may also be seen here. The museum’s upper level is dedicated to the region’s history. Ban Phonesaat is located on National Highway 13, south of the Km2 marker.

Clinic Keo Ou Done

The Traditional Medicine Hospice, or Clinic Keo Ou Done, is located near the Km 3 marker on Rte 13. A traditional Lao massage and herbal sauna are available here. Men and women have separate air-conditioned massage rooms at the facility. The cost of a massage utilising medicinal balms is roughly $3 per hour. After paying $1, you can use the herbal sauna for an endless amount of time.

Wat Phu Champasak

Wat Phu Champasak overlooks the Mekong Valley and is located in Champasak town. Two destroyed palaces are part of the complex. Shivalingam sanctuary, elephant stone, and crocodile stone are located in the upper half of the compound. From the highest area, you may get a magnificent perspective of the valley. A pond may be seen in the bottom section. Thousands of devotees converge here every year for the Bun Wat Phu Champasak Buddhist festival to offer their prayers to the local deities.
