Bokor National Park
The Elephant Mountains’ southern edge is home to this national park. It’s around 22 miles (35 kilometres) from Kampot city. Different waterfalls can be seen in this park, as well as the abandoned Bokor Hill Station, which was built by the French. You can see a variety of spectacular structures at the Bokor Hill Station, including the Old French Church, Old Casino, Bokor Training and Research Center, and Bokor Palace Hotel. The Popukvil Falls in this area are a sight to see. The park is also home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including tigers, elephants, and a variety of other wild species. In the ranger station, there are sleeping accommodations. From this location, you may also get a beautiful view of the ocean.
Phnom Chhnork Cave
These caverns are about 6 miles (10 kilometres) east of Kampot and are regarded as the best in the area. These are the bat-infested limestone caverns that still exist. A 7th-century brick temple construction may be seen in the main cave. This construction has stayed maintained and in fine condition over the years thanks to the cave. Ruined constructions from the pre-Angkor era may be found in another cave. Within these caverns, you may see bizarre stalactites and stalagmites formations.
Kep Thmey
This is a natural animal park in Kep Thmey Village, about 5 miles (8 kilometres) outside of Kampot town. The settlement is located in Kampot’s Beoungtouk Commune. You may see a variety of animal species in their natural habitat here. Tigers, gibbons, elephants, and other animals are among the main attractions of this wildlife reserve. In this park, you may see a variety of bird species such as chestnut-headed partridges, thrushes, and plu pittas.
