Tourist Attractions in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan
Museum of Regional History
The entrance to this museum may be found to the west of Magtymguly Square. There are several fascinating collections of deteriorating taxidermy, maps, and models of the Caspian Sea that may be discovered here. There are several artefacts from Turkmenistan on exhibit, including some traditional clothing and a yurt. In addition, there is a picture exhibition that is now on display in a chamber that brings to mind an adventure that was taken by a group of fisherman from the Krasnovodsk region.
Russian Orthodox Church
Visitors to Turkmenbashi are reminded of the city’s history as a Russian fortress town by this lovely cathedral that is pale blue in colour. The church has been there for a long time but still manages to dazzle with its architecture, making it a destination in Turkmenbashi that is well worth the trip.
Japanese Memorial
This monument may be seen in the vicinity of the airport. Visitors from Japan pay their respects to Japanese servicemen who were held as prisoners of war at Krasnovodsk for a significant amount of time during the Second World War. They were forced to work as slaves in the construction of the region’s roads and structures. Everyone who passed away in this location was laid to rest at a cemetery that is located next to the monument.
