Khertvisi Fortress
The Khertvisi Fortress may be found close to the town of Aspindza, at the point where the Javakheti Mtkvari and Artaani Mtkvari rivers come together. The walls of the fort were constructed in the 10th century and are considered to be rather remarkable. There are a lot of fascinating tales about Queen Tamar that are connected to this stronghold. There are two tunnels that emerge from the eastern wall and run down to one of the rivers; these tunnels are accessible. Both water delivery and communication were accomplished via the usage of these tunnels.
Cave City of Vardzia
The Cave City of Vardzia carries with it for the Georgian people a significant amount of cultural weight. It was a marvellous metropolis that included hundreds of separate rooms for monks. Giorgi III constructed the very first fortress at this location somewhere in the 12th century. It was here that Queen Tamar erected a monastery, which would eventually develop into a full-fledged city. On the western side of the Church of the Assumption, there are now around 40 homes with a total of 16 rooms. There are 79 homes and 244 rooms located to the east of here.
Sapara Monastery
The Sapara Monastery has a breathtaking setting perched precariously on the brink of a cliff. It was founded in the 9th century, and by the late 13th century, Jakelis had gained possession of it. Within the walls of the monastery is the St. Saba Church, which has some stunning murals that date back to the 14th century. On one of the doors, the inscription with the name of the architect may be discovered. Other noteworthy structures found in this area are the Church of St. Stephen and the Church of Ggmrtismshoblis Midzinebis.
